The Sultan of Sokoto H.E Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III had charged the members of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Services (NHFSS) to take charge of the forest and rescue it from the evil habitants. Sultan said this on Monday in His palace in Sokoto while playing host to the Commander General of the organisation Amb. Dr. Joshua Osatimehin.
In His words, “I know before now that the Forest naturally belongs to the Hunters and of course in the course of there gaming activities they come across many hides out of the evil ones which in time past had been of substantial assistant to all existing security in the discharge of their duties and we all enjoyed peace at least we all can sleep with our two eyes closed but now when things had gone wrong now the reverse is now the case. Please we are begging you go back and take charge of the forest.”
Speaking also concerning the NHFSS establishment bill 2020 before Mr. President, He said ” I believe the NHFSS Establishment Bill 2020 is been signed into law by Mr. President, it will bring an end to so many security breaches happening here and there like Kidnapping, Banditry, Terrorism, activities of the Unknown Gun Men e.tc. It will even serve as employment opportunities for the timing unemployed Youth. Since the Bill had scaled through the most rigorous aspect of the legislation, then we will not fold our arms and watch it been delayed but rather we will rise to the occasion and make sure that the Establishment Bill 2020 becomes a Law and NHFSS takes its rightful place in the Security sector in Nigeria.”
Earlier the Commander General of the Service Amb. Dr. Joshua Osatimehin thanked the Sultan for His fatherly, Spiritual, and Royal support to the organisation in time past. He urges the Sultan to do more using His office to appeal to His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari to assent to the NHFSS ESTABLISHMENT BILL 2020 before Him.
